Acceptable use policy
What you may and may not send. Breaking these rules gets sender IDs withdrawn by the networks, so we enforce them.
Last updated 27 August 2026
The rule behind all the rules. Only message people who agreed to hear from you, make it obvious who you are, and stop when they ask you to stop. Ghana's mobile networks and the National Communications Authority hold us responsible for what crosses our platform, and a single spam complaint can get a sender ID blocked for every customer using it.
1. Consent
You may only send to numbers where you have a lawful basis to do so. In practice that means the recipient:
- gave you the number for this purpose, for example when buying from you, booking an appointment, or joining your group; or
- explicitly opted in to hear from you.
You must be able to show, on request, when and how a recipient consented. Numbers bought from a list broker, scraped from the web, harvested from a WhatsApp group, or copied from another business's customer list are never acceptable.
2. Identify yourself
Every message must make clear who is sending it. That is what registered sender IDs are for. Do not send under a name that impersonates another business, a bank, a mobile network, a government body, or a person.
3. Opt-out
Recipients must be able to stop your messages. For marketing messages, include an opt-out instruction, for example Reply STOP to opt out or a phone number to call. You must honour an opt-out promptly and permanently, and remove the number from your contact groups.
Transactional messages a customer has asked for, such as an appointment confirmation or a delivery notification, do not need an opt-out line, but you must still stop if the person asks you to.
4. Content you must not send
- Fraud and deception of any kind: fake prize or lottery wins, "you have been credited" messages, phishing for PINs, passwords, OTPs or Ghana Card details, or anything designed to trick a person into sending money.
- Impersonation of a bank, mobile money service, network operator, government agency, or any business that is not yours.
- Unlicensed regulated offers: lending, investments, forex or crypto schemes, betting or lottery services, or pharmaceuticals, unless you hold the licence Ghanaian law requires and can show it to us.
- Adult content, or anything sexual sent to a person who did not ask for it.
- Threats, harassment, intimidation or abuse, and anything intended to stalk, defame or frighten a person.
- Hate speech, or content inciting violence or discrimination.
- Political messaging that breaches Ghanaian election law or NCA directives.
- Malware links, or shortened links that disguise a destination used for fraud.
- Anything otherwise unlawful in Ghana or in the country you are sending to.
5. Technical conduct
- Do not send the same content from several accounts to dodge limits or blocks.
- Do not share, resell or sublicense your account or API key to another business without telling us.
- Do not attempt to probe, overload or circumvent the service, its rate limits or its billing.
- Respect the per-send recipient cap. Ask us if you need it raised, and we will consider it.
6. Quiet hours
Unless the message is genuinely urgent or the recipient asked for it at that time, do not send marketing between 8pm and 8am. Messages at night generate complaints out of all proportion to their value, and complaints put everyone's sender IDs at risk.
7. How we enforce this
We do not read your messages routinely. We do investigate when a network, a regulator or a recipient complains, or when our systems flag a pattern consistent with fraud.
Depending on what we find we may: contact you for an explanation; refuse or withdraw a sender ID; suspend sending on your account; or close the account. For clear fraud or a direct regulatory instruction we act immediately and without notice. Where an account is closed for a serious breach, unused credit is not refunded, as set out in the refund policy.
We are required to cooperate with the National Communications Authority, the mobile networks and law enforcement, and we will provide the records the law obliges us to provide.
8. Report a problem
If you received a message from this platform that you believe breaches this policy, tell us at support@kwiksend.app. Include the sender ID, the message text and the date. We investigate every report, and we will tell you which of our customers sent it so that you can exercise your rights with them.
